Mercedes-Benz was one of the companies that captured the most attention at this year’s edition of the Los Angeles International Auto Show, with the carmaker introducing the track-focused SLS AMG Black Series as a world premiere.
The 6.2-liter V8 has been tweaked to deliver 631 hp, while the vehicle also comes with upgrades for the suspension, brakes and steering, as well as with a carbon fiber body kit. The SLS AMG Black Series is scheduled to enter limited production in summer 2013, but the pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
However, Mercedes has announced the financial side of the next best thing, the 2013 SLS AMG GT. This is slotted in between the “regular” SLS and the Black Series and will set you back $199,500 (Coupe) or $206,000 (Roadster) and you’ll also have to pay a $2,100 gas guzzler tax, as well as the destination fee.
