Mercedes has announced that starting this June, the GLK compact SUV will be offered for the first time with a four-cylinder petrol engine.
The model will have 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard and will be powered by a 2-liter turbocharged engine that produces 211 PS (208 bhp) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft) of peak torque, the same as in an A250. It's also fitted as standard with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission and start/stop to save you fuel.

For such an underwhelming level of power, the GLK 250 is quite brisk. It gets from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 215 km/h (134mph), returning 7.7 l/100km on the combined cycle.

Prices in the domestic German market will start at just €44,149 including 19% VAT.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
