Mercedes is using the next big dinosaur disaster movie Jurassic World to promote the GLE, but it's nothing more than product placement, basic stuff. People were expecting more than a squeaky-clean silver SUV being driven sloooooowly by a Hollywood actress, especially when the first-generation ML was showcased in Jurassic Park back in 1997 as a rugged safari truck.
But the Brits at Carwow have taken it upon themselves to do what Mercedes didn't and give the GLE a rugged makeover. Have you heard of zombie survival machines? Well this is a dinosaur survival machine. Give it some time and they'll make a game about it, we're sure.

According to the movie trailer, scientists on that retched island where they cloned dinosaurs made one from scratch, using DNA from different species. This aggressive reptile escapes and runs rampant, so maybe a little help from a fast SUV wouldn't hurt.

The GLE features a roll cage that protects it from rocks and visors for the glass so the animals can't claw their way inside. The most obvious change is the bold yellow, green and red color scheme borrowed from previous movies, coupled with that famous T-rex fossil logo.

The Mercedes SUV's headlights might not be up to the job in a dense jungle, so a bar of accessory lights has been added on top, together with a few more in the bumpers and one on the mirror.

Is that a laser on top? No, it's a harpoon gun, added there as a superpowered tranquilizer gun to get though the tough skin of most prehistoric monstrosities. And just to make sure nobody dies because of a stupid flat tire, a spare was installed on the back. With an angry T-rex on your tail, you'd better move fast or you'll lose that hand!
