Mercedes Glamour at the Retromobile 2011

Two major events in Mercedes-Benz's existence are colliding this year to make for one special moment. First, as you already know, the car maker is celebrating 125 years since the first car in its history (and the world's). And secondly, the Retromobile 2011 auto show in Paris is just around the corner.

Mercedes plans to make full advantage of the event in the French capital, and promises to bring there its entire collection of historic cars. The display will be more than that, because, for the first time, the manufacturer will host both sale and collection cars in the same place.

Those who will be going to the show on February 2 will get a chance to see the model which started the whole automotive industry, the Benz Patent Motor Car of 1886. From that car and all the way to the latest Mercedes creation, the
Concept Shooting Brake, the display of cars will be impressive: 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Luxury Roadster, 1950 Mercedes-Benz 300 S Cabriolet A, the 1975 Mercedes-Benz W 116 and many more.

Aside for the cars in its history, the German car maker will also be celebrating the people that meant something for them. This year, a separate display will be dedicated to racing driver Juan Manuel Fangio. To honor him, the Retromobile show will feature some of his cars, like the original Mercedes-Benz W 196.

The Retromobile show is only of the venues where Mercedes-Benz will go to let the world know 2011 is a very special year in its history. More will come throughout the year, promising to make 2011 a tree-pointed star year.
