Mercedes Denies Reports of Angry Rosberg

Nico Rosberg move quickly to dismiss rumors that he is angry and unhappy with his current team in Formula One, Mercedes GP. Talking to a German tabloid newspaper, the 25-year old driver was quoted as saying that he is angry with the way Mercedes' development goes this season and that he's unhappy with the fact that his team is yet to address the tire issues experienced by the W01 challenger.

However, a MercedeBenz spokesman said on Friday that Rosberg's comments were taken out of context and that the German driver is “completely happy with the Silver Arrows team.” Additionally the spokesman said that Rosberg has “nothing but admiration” for both Mercedes and team boss Ross Brawn.

Rosberg's interview with Cologne publication Express – more importantly, what he said there – came only a few days after the Mercedes driver was urging his team boss not to switch focus towards the 2011 challenger, but to continue the development of this year's car. However, considering the poor results scored by the team in Valencia, where they brought a seriously updated car, it's likely that the 2010 campaign will be abandoned soon enough.

While his comments were or weren't taken out of context, the fact of the matter is Ross Brawn still hasn't figured out a way to take care of his car's tire problems. To be more precise, the new W01 takes a longer time than normal to reach an optimum speed, something that clearly affects its performances in qualifying (in particular) and race (in general).

Of course, this is no news for Brawn, whose championship winning team last year had the same problem with the BGP001. Midway through last season, these downsides of the title winning car started to show at almost every race. And, since the W01 is a progression of that machine, only with a different silver-arrow livery, anyone can do the math of how long the team's engineers have spent in NOT solving that problem.

Recently, Michael Schumacher also confirmed these issues, saying that the team needs to address the problem faster and intensively until it's finally solved.
