We usually associate aftermarket specialists G-Power with the Hurricane-badged BMWs. However, not even the makers of the most powerful M3s in the world could resist the charms of the beautiful new Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe.
The 5.5-liter V8 under the bonnet of this beast already packs a couple of turbochargers, so there was no need to add the usual twin-screw supercharger. However, G-Power did see fit to increase the output from the standard 585 horsepower to 705 hp. On top of that, torque is also up modestly… to 1000 Nm (737.5 lb-ft). It's only 100 more than standard, but we still find it to be an absurd amount of twisting force.
While working on the S63's electronic nannies, the guys at G-Power also de-restricted so that the super-coupe will do 330 km/h (205 mph). In a straight line, this massive coupe is supposedly capable of reaching 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, which is decent, but not mind-blowing.
The electronic wizardry will set you back €7,000, which is peanuts when you've just spent upwards of €170,000 on the car to begin with.
Alongside the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 engine module, G-Power also installed a new set of wheels that they believe better exude the ideals of German luxury. The 21-inch Power Hurricane RR alloys have been shod in 265/30 rubber and cost an additional €9,095.
To be honest, G-Power hasn't built the most amazing S-Coupe project we've ever seen. But the three-pointed star isn't in their general area of expertise, so for the sake of all that is supercharged and holy, we'll forgive them.
