With the earlier unveil of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe (C217) in all its sumptuousness, all the talk about its optional Swarovski-encrusted LED lights or its world-first Active Curve Tilting function we kind of forgot about the one of the most simple delights concerning the car: bathing in its magnificence.
Of course, there are already talks about some of its rear-three quarter lines reminding some people about the Renault Laguna Coupe – which, incidentally, is also reminding people about some Henrik Fisker-designed Aston Martins – but, overall, the new S-Class Coupe (C217) is good enough to be put on a pedestal in terms of modern automotive design.
Naturally, Mercedes-Benz is mighty proud of how the production car came out, especially since it's quasi-identical with the gorgeous Concept S-Class Coupe shown at the 2013 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
“Our new S-Class Coupé is one of the most gorgeous coupés of all times, representing the most radical aesthetic departure from its predecessor,” says Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz. “The sensuous flowing silhouette in interplay with the clear progressive design language forms a perfect symbiosis and expresses our philosophy of sensual purity with pithy precision.”
We couldn't agree more, and the following press videos do nothing but enhance our praise of the car's both exterior and interior looks.
