As we mentioned numerous times, the rather extensive refresh that Mercedes-Benz gave to the E-Class family is most likely the most expensive mid-life facelift in the history of the automobile.
With about one billion Euros invested evenly among the four different body types - W212 E-Class, S212 E-Class Wagon, C207 E-Class Coupe and A207 E-Class Cabriolet – the amount of new features on the facelifted models is about the same that's expected from the release of an entirely new model.

Edmund's recently had a go in the US-spec of the Mercedes-Benz E 350 sedan and gave it a rather thorough review.

Powered by the 3.5-liter V6 with direct injection with 306 hp (302 bhp) and 370 Nm (273 lb ft) of torque, the E 350 they tested came with the Sport package, which apparently didn't quite float the editors' boat even though it came as a no-cost option.

In other words, their quarrels with the model resided mainly with the Sport package, which from their point of view “reduces some of the sedan' road presence,” ending their conclusion with the fact that the facelifted E-Class is a just a good choice instead of “the choice” in its segment. You should check out Edmund' full review for a better understanding of that.
