The smallest AMG model to ever hit the United States is the odd apple of the Affalterbach orchard, with its compact-based roots managing to win quite a deal more fans than Mercedes-Benz was initially hoping for.
The all-wheel drive CLA 45 AMG is the first and so far only four-cylinder AMG model to arrive in the land of the free, but its lack of a V8 hasn't stopped customers barging in Mercedes-Benz dealerships when it was launched back in November.
Apart from the more-than-adequate power figures, another reason to indulge yourself with a nice CLA 45 AMG would probably be the fact that the recently-announced EPA figures for the model are probably the best in its not-exactly-existing segment.
We are talking about 23 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway and 26 mph combined, which is about the same as a large modern diesel.
Keeping in mind that its M133 engine is good for 360 hp (355bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque, we find the EPA figures to be on the amazing side of the spectrum.
