The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG, along with its A 45 AMG little brother, is the first AMG model to feature an engine with less than five cylinders.
Many AMG aficionados probably frowned at the lack of a V8 to tremble the road it's being driven on, but the WRC-like “brap!” sounds emitted by both the CLA and the A 45 AMG exhausts are nothing to be ashamed about, as aren't the performance figures for both cars.

The M133, turbocharged, two-liter, four-cylinder under the hood is good for 360 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque. These numbers are enough to give the all-wheel drive CLA 45 AMG a naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds.

That's pretty fast, but how would it fair against an Australian brawling muscle sedan such as the HSV GTS, you ask? You'll just have to watch the following video for the answer to that.

Remember though, the HSV GTS in the footage has 585 hp and 740 Nm (546 lb ft) of torque, so we're thinking that the CLA 45 AMG performance on the strip is remarkable to say the least, despite the outcome of the race.
