We have some really mixed feelings about the following marketing video. No, it's not because of the music, as frankly even J-Pop would have probably worked better than the low quality dubstep/brostep frenzy that has taken over some corporate videos lately.
So, we don't have anything against hip hop as backing music for a somewhat uplifting infomercial, but we're not sure what to think about AMG getting it on with a song that has quite a large array of NSFW language in its original version.
Sang by a rapper calling himself Najee The 1, the original tune is apparently named El Uno, and here are some “sanitized” excerpts from it:
“No Pappy, but ya b*tch call me daddy
Riding that 4 train all I envisioned were Caddys
Even better AMG 550, sliding out and got my guys with me
Welcome y'all to my city […]
And you know just what mom's on
F*ck it, book full of notes, found my zone - I love it […]
Coming up, a n*gga like me would only hear
How a n*gga like me couldn't get there
Some how a n*gga like me standing right here.”
Not only that, but the video editing itself might induce image-induced seizures to some epilepsy sufferers if you ask us. Apart from that, let's just say that we kind of dig it. How about you guys?
