The penultimate race weekend in the Deutsche Touring Meisterschaft (DTM) championship will take place during September 28th and 29th at the famed Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands.
Therefore, the ninth race of the season arrives for the lucky thirteenth time at the historic beach-bound circuit. The 4.307 km (2,676 miles) long circuit first debuted in 2001 in the DTM, and the 44 laps cover a total of 189.508 kilometers (117.754 miles).

For the last two races of the season, including Zandvoort, the Stihl Mercedes-AMG C-Coupe driven by junior Robert Wickens will have a different livery, with the bright orange corporate colors of Stihl Timbersports appearing on the car.

“Zandvoort is a fantastic track that is definitely one of my favorites. The circuit has a good mix of fast and slow turns and uphill and downhill sections – driving there is great fun. I’ve already won three times in the past at Zandvoort. Hopefully, that bodes well for the penultimate race weekend of the season. Our pace was not bad in the Oschersleben race, and if we can qualify further up the grid, then we’ll be back in contention for the top spots, and my fourth victory in the dunes at Zandvoort will perhaps be possible.” said Euronics Mercedes-AMG C-Coupe driver, Gary Paffett.

Having won three times in Zandvoort and setting the fastest lap in last year's race, Paffett is the first contender to finish in a good position from the Mercedes-AMG DTM teams this weekend.
