Mazda has unveiled the Mazda2 Yozora (yo-zo-ra means “night sky” in Japanese) Limited Edition in Canada.

The vehicle comes dressed in a brilliant black paint and features a “2” themed decal kit on the front driver’s side bumper and fender.

The special edition offers a sporty appearance, thanks to the use of a raised rear spoiler, short stubby antenna, chrome tailpipe and custom 16 inch alloy rims, which feature a dual black-silver finish which integrates with the vehicle’s design. These are wrapped in 195/45 R16 Toyo Proxes. The car also features "Yozora" tailgate badge, unique "Yozora Edition" floor mats and 185/55 R15 winter tires, which come mounted on Mazda Steel wheels.

The Mazda2 Yozora used the entry-level GX trim as a starting point, but added an air conditioning and a Convenience package, which consists of heated door mirrors, remote keyless entry, jackknife key, steering-wheel mounted cruise control and audio controls, two additional speakers, exterior temperature gauge, trip computer, body-coloured door mirrors and handles, and interior silver trimming.

"With its captivating design, exceptional value and fun-to-drive attributes, the Mazda2 Yozora will cater to our younger enthusiasts, who value individuality and expression," said Mike Collinson, director of marketing and product strategy, Mazda Canada. "For under $20,000, Yozora offers the most sought-after accessories and customization in one convenient package."

Mazda will only build 500 units of the Yozora Edition, with all the models destined for the Canadian market. The vehicle will be introduced in July, with a starting price of $19,280.
