Mazda's Small Fleet Business Development Programme Extended

Since its introduction last year, the Japanese automaker’s small fleet development programme has enjoyed its share of success and, in order to continue this positive trend, Mazda has decided to extend it by an additional two years.

According to Am-Online, more than 360 accounts that included businesses operating 7,700+ company cars have been opened, thanks to the plan of activities concerning the sub-50 fleet sector.

This programme has been launched in May last year and, soon after its introduction, an additional 19 dealers (to the initial 16) have joined Mazda’s dealer network. Magma Services managed to create a specialist sales team which helped dealers work together in order to reach their goals, resulting in 276 delivered vehicles.

This success earned Magma Services a two year contract for continuing the success stream of the programme. A squad of four business development managers help support dealers in speculating business opportunities. The team’s main efforts were focused on exploiting direct selling opportunities to local businesses, as well as helping dealers to run their fleet vehicles in partnership with Mazda.

Investment in the programme in terms of helping dealers establishing relations within businesses in their areas is being rewarded with significant business opportunities," said Mazda fleet and remarketing director Steve Jelliss.

Companies that have taken delivery of Mazda vehicles represent conquest sales for the brand,” he added.

The business development managers will not only be working with dealers new to the programme, but they will also support the franchises in training staff to pro-actively manage our fleet customers,” Jelliss concluded.
