Mastretta MXT Debuting at Paris Auto Show

The last few years have brought us a lot of supercar and sports car promises, but not all dreams became a road-blitzing reality. We are talking about newcomers that announce the introduction of a go-fast vehicle but have no experience in the field.

One of these companies comes from Mexico and uses the Mastretta name. The baby automaker announced quite a while ago that it will introduce a car called MXT to the market, with the vehicle offering a high level of performance. The MXT was supposed to make its debut last year, but it only remained a project.

However, it seems like things are about to change, as the Mexican company has issued a press release stating that the MXT’s production will be unveiled at the upcoming Paris Auto Show, with the market introduction following the move.

"On the occasion of the 2010 Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris, France, next October, the production version of the Mastretta MXT will make its world debut in preparation for its introduction in the Mexican and international markets,” stated the press release.

The pre-production version of the MXT used a centrally-mounted 2.0 liter Ford Duratec powerplant that came with a turbocharger and delivered 240 hp. That might seem like a hot-hatch level, but considering that the vehicle promises to tip the scales at less than 1,000 kg, it will offer satisfying performance.

autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Paris Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
