Massa Demands Explanation from Alonso for Silverstone Clash

With the wing saga that caused the Red Bull garage to lit up during the course of last weekend, at Silverstone, people did not pay much attention to another interesting teammate clash that happened in the starting lap of the British Grand Prix: the one between Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

The Spaniard experienced another slow start at Silverstone, and was overtaken by both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in the first hundreds of meters. Eventually, Felipe Massa also ended up behind his teammate's car, and immediately tried to overtake him. Alonso fought back and the two made a contact in Beckett's, leading to Massa's car experiencing a tire puncture.

Needless to say, the Brazilian was forced to make an unscheduled visit to the pits for a new set of tires at the end of Lap 1 and his entire race was ruined. He eventually finished in 15th place, behind the Spaniard.

I'll talk to Alonso to find out why he has touched my car. You really must not touch your teammate's car,” said Massa, according to Portuguese language site aeiou.pt.

This is not the first incident of such kind that happened between the two Ferrari drivers. As most of you remember from the incident-full Chinese Grand Prix, Alonso proceeded to pass his teammate on the pit lane entry, almost pushing the Brazilian out of bounds and into the wall. The incident stirred things up quite a bit inside the Ferrari garage, but the Scuderia officials were careful enough not to let that cause a rift between the two drivers.

Now it happened again, but nobody at Ferrari actually paid attention to the Silverstone incident, being that Alonso's race was also affected by the drive-through penalty he received when passing Robert Kubica midway through the race. However, we're curious if Massa will offer us an update on that discussion...
