Marco Simoncelli Signs Deal with Rifle

Marco Simoncelli will not come to San Carlo Honda Gresini MotoGP team empty-handed, but joined by his brand new backer Rifle. The well-known denim brand has decided to join the former 250cc champion in his first year inside the MotoGP series, therefore bringing a new flavor to the Italian team.

The Tuscan company is currently run by Sandro Fratini, sole shareholder and president of Super Rifle SPA, and will create a special line of clothing bearing the signature of Simoncelli. The range will be named “Supersic” and will hit the stores in due time.

“I am extremely happy that an established Italian brand such as Rifle is so keen to join Marco Simoncelli on his new adventure in MotoGP and to breathe life into such a close collaboration with our team,” said the team's boss Fausto Gresini.

“Marco Simoncelli is now a Riffle rider and we are really pleased to link up with Team SAN CARLO HONDA GRESINI and accompany Marco on his big MotoGP adventure,” added Veronika Jans, external press relations manager for Super Rifle SpA.

“The creation of a relationship with such an established team as San Carlo Honda Gresini goes much further than the MotoGP paddock. In fact, the spring-summer 2010 Rifle collection will be modeled by both Fausto Gresini and Marco Simoncelli with a photo session at the team’s headquarters. This is further evidence of our faith in this sponsorship and our determination to achieve great results together,” concluded Jans.
