It’s been said over and over again: BMW lost its way. Apparently, the Germans agree and, to keep the blue and white roundel DNA alive, they’re struggling to bring forth an army of new cars that would appeal to those customers used to cars such as the E36 and E46 M3. We’re talking, of course, about the M235i too.

The car they just launched kept on getting pretty good reviews. Sure, not everyone agrees on every detail but most of the reviewers out there claim that this is a return to basics from the Bavarians. The best way to experience the new Coupe is with a manual gearbox, of course.

The guys from CAR got their hands on one and had a little fun with it in the rain. Even though the road was soaking wet, the Michelin Super Sport tires helped them out, being super sticky even in these conditions. Furthermore, the car’s new steering and engine provided plenty of adrenaline rush so that they had a big smile on their faces at all times.

Speaking of the engine, this car has a new one on board. It’s an improvement over the one found on the M135i, the Hatch equivalent. It makes 326 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque thanks to 3 liters of displacement, 6 cylinders and a turbocharger. Check out their full take on the matter, in the video below.
