The addition of an M version to the X6 range was just what the tuners were waiting for, and with BMW’s decision to use a turbocharged powerplant for the Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) the path for power booting has become an easier one.

Case in point with Manhart’s incarnation of the X6M: Dubbed Manhart M6XR Twin Turbo, the SAC comes with an impressive 687 hp. This has been achieved through the use of a catalytic conversion modification, a modified exhaust and an ECU remap for the vehicle’s twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 powerplant. The fresh stainless steel exhaust system uses four 90 mm tailpipes and two 200-cell HJS racing catalytic converters.

The 2.4 ton car can reach 62 mph in a brief 4.7 seconds and offers a top speed of 198 mph (319 km/h).

In order for the vehicle to offer proper handling, it has been fitted with a lowered suspension that brings it closer to ground by 30mm and with a set of 23 inch rims that use high performance tires (315/25 R 23).

The stopping power has also been upgraded, as the vehicle has received a performance braking system that use 395 mm rotors and six-piston calipers at the front and 375mm discs with four-piston calipers at the rear.

The interior of the SAC comes with a full-leather finish, with Alcantara roof and door linings, as well as with Klavierlack double-coat clear finish trimmings.

And the M6XR Twin Turbo isn’t the final frontier for Manhart. The tuner is preparing an even more powerful version that promises to offer in excess of 700 hp and 900 Nm.
