You see stuff like this in the movies and it always looks easy and relatively danger-free. The bad guy does it with ease as the good guy chases after him, and neither are hurt when they happen to stumble and fall.
That’s the movies, to state the obvious. In real life, no one should ever jump from one carriage to another, especially when the train is moving.

One man died over the weekend in a New York City subway after doing just that. From what the NY Post is reporting, he lost balance and fell, and cracked his head open. Still, he made it one one more jump and died in the last car. Presumably, he didn’t even realize just how badly he had injured himself.

One eyewitness has posted a photo of the victim to social media, as a means to warn other daredevils against such a dangerous practice.

“The [victim] was making his way to the back of the train from the front, going between carriages as the train was moving, wobbling as he went along. My carriage was the 2nd to the last one, he died in the last one,”
Mr. Aye Dee writes on Twitter.

“Folks, whatever you do while riding the subway, please do not attempt to move between cars while the train is moving, this poor soul did, and now he's no more…,” he says in the caption of the shocking photo.

The NY Post says that, while it’s clear that the man fell and hit his head, which resulted in his death, a police investigation is currently underway to establish the official cause of death. Authorities have refused to comment on the incident, but the eyewitness’ words should be enough comment for now: stay safe during commute and don’t jump between train carriages. Just don’t do it.
