LS2 has announced the imminent release of a new modular helmet codenamed FF393 Convert. The details on the new helmet's design are rather scarce at the moment of writing, but LS2 said that the new lid will sport a rotating chin bar.
Judging by the picture LS2 released, the design brings nothing new in this particular segment, but we can figure that the architecture appeals enough riders to justify mass-producing such a helmet. Basically, the chin bar lifts up and can be rotated all the way to the back of the head.
Skipping the need of a more ample hand movement to cycle between the two end positions, the only advantage is that when open, the LS2 FF393 Convert could be more silent at high speed than a traditional flip-up helmet.
LS2 also advertises a “Full Eclipse” drop-down sun shield included in the new helmet, but no other details have been given, such as price or availability. Check this space for more info as LS2 outs the new lid.
