Lotus Evora Released, Hopes Are High

Lotus has announced it has completed the two weeks long press launch of the new Evora, after debuting the campaign on May 4. The launch of the Evora took place at Loch Lomond in Scotland and the company calls it "a huge sucess".

The Evora is Lotus' first all-new car in 14 years and to mark the event the manufacturer plans to sell it in no less than 41 countries worldwide, as it is designed to meet the regulations of every of the targeted markets.

Unlike most manufacturers, Lotus will increase production to meet the high demands for the Evora, as well as for the Elise and Exige. To do this, Lotus does yet another thing most manufacturers today try to do without: hiring. Overall, production will be increased by 50 percent, while the direct production staff of the company will grow by 30 percent, 10 percent of which this year alone.

"The Group is supplying strongly into Europe and the Far East and already the demand at Lotus dealers for the Evora in the USA is significantly beyond initial expectations.  Lotus sees this sector as the springboard of the recovery in the UK economy overall - in exciting world-class products, quality manufacturing and strong export sales," Lotus said in a release.

We’re not claiming that we have the solution to all the world’s economic problems, but our plans and efforts are working well for us right now.  The Lotus story is very positive; new products, new customers, strong exports and new technologies and we know that this combination is a world-beating one,” Michael J. Kimberley, Group Lotus CEO added.
