Liuzzi Insists Force India Is No Longer a Small Team

Vitantonio Liuzzi returned to full-time Formula One racing in 2010 with Force India, and the first thing he did was add some points to his tally from the very opening round in Bahrain. Proving that his points finish at Sakhir was not a fortunate event, he made the scoreboard in Australia also, before his teammate Adrian Sutil recorded the team's highest ranking this season with a 5th place in Malaysia.

Being that Force India is becoming a regular point-finishing team in the series, Liuzzi cannot help it from noticing he is now part of a big team, not a small organization.

When you start having results and you start scoring points then you feel much stronger. You feel better because you see your efforts have paid off. And also it is good because it's not just your confidence that goes up, the team confidence goes up too,” said Liuzzi, following his team's 3 point-finishes this campaign.

That is an important thing, especially for a team like our one. We are doing big things, we are scoring points consistently and we have shown that we are no longer a small team. These things keep you alive, keep you believing and keep you moving forward,” added the Italian driver.

Liuzzi admitted that his team's competition with Renault is also a positive thing that drives the Silverstone technicians forward in 2010, as boss Vijay Mallya admitted his goal to finish 5th in the overall teams' classification.

We are pushing like hell to develop, because we think we can get good results in the remaining part of the season as well. It is nice to hear that they (Renault) are looking at us and also nice that other teams are looking at us too. It shows we are no longer a backmarker team,” added Liuzzi.
