Kris Meeke's fans finally have a chance to drive a car similar to the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) champion's by purchasing the special edition 207 S16. However, don't get too excited as the guys over at Peugeot only mastered the exterior styling of the car while the engine performance remained basically the same as on the Sport 1.6 VTi version.
There are several exterior upgrades as compared to the Sport trim level, including the Bianca white painting. The sporty attitude is further enhanced with the addition of a new bodykit which adds both a new front and rear spoiler plus side skirts and a rear diffuser. Additionally, the car features dark tinted rear windows, 17-inch Hockenheim alloy wheels, a new front grille and special interior badges which, according to Carscoop, are signed by Kris Meeke himself.
Furthermore, buyers who are looking to customize the exterior appearance even more can request Peugeot to install a special rally vinyl similar to Kris Meeke's, the aforementioned source noted.
But just as we said, the car brings nothing new in terms of performance versus the Sport 1.6 VTi configuration available on the 207 range. For example, the 1.6-liter four-cylinder unit develops the same output, 120 horsepower, and helps the car sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a boring 10.7 seconds time. The maximum speed goes to 201 km/h (125 mph).
The special series will be limited to 250 units and will be only available in the United Kingdom. Pricing starts at 14,695 British pounds ($23,550).
