The futuristic looking Lightning GT electric supercar will not struggle to find traction against some 80 other battery and alternative powered vehicles at this year’s RAC Future Car Challenge, where it will race on the 60 mile route from Madeira Drive in Brighton to London’s Regent Street.
The challenge will kick off on on November 5th, 2011, and will require competitors to run the full distance within the 2hrs 45min minimum and 3hrs 30min maximum time permitted using the least amount of energy.

The Lightning GT should have no problem getting to the front of the pack, as it brings 300 kW (about 400 hp) and a whopping 2,433Nm (1,794 lb.ft.) torque to the rear wheels. Given its top speed of 125 mph, it could potentially do the whole thing in about half an hour if it wants to, and range should also be no problem.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
