Lightning Electric Car: The Electric Hot Rod

When every vehicle is turning electric nowadays, and by that we mean vehicles like city busses to F1cars. The only place that was left untouched by the power of “volt” was the supercharged car family more exactly the Hotrods.

Imagine how would you feel if instead of a guzzling V8 supercharged under the hood of a Hot Rod you would see a buzzing square case with a lot of colored wires….it seems that the impossible has happened. But let’s face it, it’s not such a bad thing afterall considering the low environmental-impact that it has, this might be the appearance of a new breed of “Electric-Hot Rod” cars.

"It’s a different style of driving. You step on the gas and you get going and then you let off and just coast. It really changes the way I drive. I feel like I’m in a covered wagon like a pioneer, figuring all this stuff out. There’s a lot of people who have been doing this for a long time, but not quite in the same way we are doing it. We are using a very simple setup with just batteries and a motor and a rear axle. There is no transmission. We tried to eliminate as many pieces to make it right.” Mark Kalish President of Enviro Tech in Eau Claire was quoted as saying by volumeone.org.

Mark Kalish President of Enviro Tech the creator of the Lightining Electric Car, as it is called has almost completed the production of the electric car and it is foreseen that it will be completed in September 2011.The price of this “electrifying” Hot Rod is expected to run for $28,000, with a $6,600 federal tax credit for electric vehicles.
