With Toyota offering standalone on-board Wi-Fi Hotspot devices for the vehicles in its lineup, it was just a matter of time until Lexus received it too. And now it has.
The 2014 Lexus IS’ on-board technology now includes a new Hotspot system, which offers independent high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity for each vehicle passenger.
Hard wired into the car’s battery, Lexus Hotspot is available and gets immediately activated when the car is switched on, allowing up to five simultaneously connections both for business and gaming purposes.
The system operates via two 3G diversity antennas which guarantee optimum connectivity even at high vehicle speeds. Internet access is provided using a SIM card from any GSM operator.
Lexus’ Hotspot Wi-Fi system is available on the IS, GS, CT as well as on the RX model, and you can purchase it from your local dealership.
