Lewis Hamilton is the man of the moment in Formula 1, after winning his third World Championship title and, who knows, going for the fourth. The British race driver is also known for his expensive taste in cars and bikes. Quite recently, he wanted to add another unique car to his collection, Ken Block’s “Hoonicorn” to be more precise, but after hearing the price, he suddenly lost all interest.
The reason, just like the price, is yet unknown, but after seeing all the crazy stuff Hamilton is doing and buying - he allegedly spent $50 million on his private Bombardier CL-600 jet and painted it candy red - we can assume that money was not an issue. Maybe Block didn’t want to sell his beloved monster and asked for a ridiculously high price to discourage the Brit.

The Hoonicorn is the car Block used in the Gymkhana 7 video. It is a highly modified 1965 Ford Mustang, designed by Block, Hoonigan and RTR, and powered by a 6.7-liter Roush-Yates V8 engine with NASCAR spec heads, which revs to scarcely-believable RPM. The mighty power unit develops 845 horsepower and sends it to all four wheels.

Although he has some crazy cars in his garage, the Monster athlete admits that he’s not a supercar fan and only enjoys looking at them, because “Why would I spend a couple of thousand dollars for a car that is slower than my race car?” as Block recently told Auto Motor und Sport.

On the other hand, this is Lewis Hamilton - who, even if he spends much of his time behind the wheel of Mercedes Petronas’ F1 W06 Hybrid race car, driving at incredible speeds around the most famous circuits in the world, has a big thing for fast and expensive cars.

The Brit’s collection of cars includes a Pagani Zonda 760RS that he recently crashed in Monaco, a Ferrari LaFerrari, a Mercedes-Benz SLS BlackSeries, a 1967 Shelby GT500, a 1967 AC Cobra, a Mercedes-Maybach S600 and a crazy MV Agusta Dragster RR Limited Edition.
