Car aficionados have their own ways of having fun staying inside during the winter, and restoring a legendary vehicle, such as a Pontiac GTO, a Chevrolet Impala, or a Ford Mustang, is typically a great father-son project.
LEGO has another suggestion for people who want to spend quality time away from the sometimes brutally cold weather.

The newly-released Orient Express train set comes with 2,540 pieces and is specifically aimed at adults who know what the historical train is all about in the first place. The set also includes eight minifigures, a locomotive, a dining car, and a sleeping car. The details you can build are mind-blowing, as the dining car comes with cozy tables and inlaid wood panels.

There's also a bar with green bottles and cut-glass mirrors. If you're here, this probably wouldn't be your first LEGO train, so I have great news. The model is compatible with the LEGO track system and fits the L gauge track. The locomotive includes new elements for coupling rods, whistle, and funnel.

You'll need plenty of space to assemble the Orient Express train, as once complete, it measures 46 inches (over 1.1 meters) in length. You'll, therefore, be able to easily spot the impressive details, including the people having dinner in the dedicated car and the bartender preparing a cocktail.

The Orient Express train is part of the Ideas program, which brings new sets inspired by fans worldwide to life. Anyone can create a LEGO model and upload it to the website, wait for the community to vote for it, and get a dedicated official set, sometimes available in limited numbers (it doesn't seem to be the case with the Orient Express train, but the set already looks to be in hot demand).

If you wonder how much you'll have to spend inside building this Orient Express train, it all depends on how skilled you are. I won't provide any spoilers, but the building instructions manual has 300 pages, so it's not just a one-night job. The set will probably keep you busy for an entire weekend if you're committed to building it as fast as possible.

A Pontiac GTO project, especially in a solid shape, provides months of fun during a restoration process but is significantly more expensive. You won't find a solid GTO for less than $10,000 if you don't want a rust bucket, and the price goes up if the car is complete and original.

Fortunately, the Orient Express train set is significantly more affordable, as you can get it today for only $299.99. You should get the set in three days with standard shipping, so if you hurry up, you could have it at your door before the weekend.
