Lego seems to know exactly what the audience wants and after releasing the most popular Volkswagen Camper Van set a while back, they decided to repeat the car experiment with another iconic model.
This time they went over to the British heritage in the automotive history and they picked the Mini Cooper as their inspiration. Therefore, after some hard work they are now announcing that a 1,077 piece set of the Mini Cooper Mk VII is now a reality.

Made of green, white and beige pieces, the new car is set to arrive in stores this August, for $100 in the US, CAD200, AUD150, €89.99 and £74.99. After building it, you should get a 4 x 9 x 5 inches replica (11 x 25 x 14 centimeter) of the original car.

The details have been preserved as much as possible, the car coming with the striped bonnet, sporty fog lights, a detailed engine bay and even a separate spare tire compartment. The roof can be removed to see the interior in all its splendor while the gearshift and handbrake also move. Oh and you get a matching picnic basket too!

Lego cars are quickly becoming more and more popular these days, possibly due to the Lego Movie that came out earlier this year. Just in 2014 we’ve seen Lego Toyotas, SLS AMG models and even a working V8 engine. Who knows what the future holds ? Maybe we’ll get to ride in such cars in the next months. Oh wait...
