Ever wondered how it would be like to go on a cruise and stick your face on the windows all the way? Designer Lujac Desautel thought about it, so he created a super luxury megayacht that was inspired by skyscrapers and Lego, called Glass. It’s designed to reflect the Ocean and an elevator makes up its core, passing through the crew pantries, a wine cellar, sick berth, kitchen and day heads.
By far one of the most exclusivist luxury yachts ever designed, Dasautel concept was actually nominated for Young Designer of the year at the 2014 Show Boats Design Awards. The competition recognises the best superyacht design from the boards of student and trainee designers.
According to its creator, Glass is built upon a SWATH (Small Water-plane Area Twin Hull) platform specifically requested by a world renown composer and his family. It was organized vertically by three cubic volumes. “Glass becomes a nuance of the conventional yacht, leveraging the swath hulls unusually large beam width by literally stacking each floor like Lego blocks” Desautel explains his concept on the official site.
What makes this 5,600 square foot (520,26 square meters) vessel more than astonishing is the actual way its unusual and unique arrangement of space enables breathtaking views from all areas of the yacht. The concept’s website describes it as a nuance of conventional yacht. Each floor becomes entirely dedicated to maximizing the amount of living space for guest and crew on board.
We don’t know about you, but that would definitely be our fist choice if we were to plan a cruise vacation.
