If you’re planning to get your hands on a 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro, you’ll have one last chance in January, when the final unit of the car is scheduled to go under the hammer.
This is one of the two convertibles ever built and it will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, with the proceeds set to go to the American Hear Association. The drag-focused model is powered by a COPO 327 V8 engine that uses a Whipple supercharger to deliver an NHRA (National Hot Rod Association)-certified 550 hp.
The vehicle is the only COPO Camaro fitted with a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission, as well as the only ‘12 model painted in Inferno Orange Metallic.
Chevrolet gave the world a total of 69 units of the COPO Camaro for 2012, all of them being hand built. Customers could also opt for a 327 engine working with a 2.9L supercharger, as well as with a naturally-aspirated 427 powerplant.
