Land Rover Announces Geneva 2011 Offensive

Some one week ago we offered you a glimpse at the goodies that visitors will find in Land Rover’s booth at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show, as we then new the British brand plans to bring the new Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition to the stand. Now we are back to reveal all the Land Rover developments that are set to be showcased at the event.

Specifically, a hybrid technology showcase, the new Range Rover Evoque in both coupe and 5-door derivatives, and exciting Discovery 4 and Range Rover Limited Editions complete the line-up.

For example, Land Rover's diesel hybrid plug-in prototype, the Range_e, will be making its motor show debut. The Range_e is powered by a 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, matched with a plug-in parallel diesel hybrid system. It achieves 89g/km of CO2, has an EV range of 20 miles (32km) and a top speed of around 120 mph (193 km/h).

In addition, the Range Rover Evoque coupe and 5-door with customer personalisation options are to be shown for the first time. "Customers like to make their own unique statement with a vehicle and we have provided individuals with lots of opportunity to personalise their new Range Rover Evoque, whilst maintaining the essence of the design," Gerry McGovern, Land Rover design director said in a statement for the press.

Also, the 2011 Discovery 4 'Landmark' Limited Editions with Black and White themes are said to offer “on-road refinement to match most executive saloons, the versatility of a large people carrier and unrivalled off-road capability.”
