Although Lancia is currently making boring family cars and compacts, it used to be one of the biggest names in rallying in the past. That's why it will take center-stage at next year’s Race Retro, when it returns to Stoneleigh Park, Coventry in the earlier February.
The Italian carmaker, known for such legends as the Fulvia, Stratos and 037, is associated with the toughest form of motor racing. The models, known for their strength and durability, have played a crucial part in the development of rallying.
During the event, which is scheduled to take place between February 25th and 27th, there will be a magnificent static Lancia display in the Rally Hall (Hall 1). There will also be a newly designed ‘Live Rally Stage’, sponsored by Hero, which will showcase the performance of these rally rockets. The racing course proved a hit in 2010, with the drivers and the organizers hoping to ‘up the ante’ once again with more modifications.
Lancia has become the dominant force in historic rallying, recreating their illustrious racing years for a new generation of fans. Thus, the company is bringing together its 1960s Fulvia HF, the 4WD legend from the ‘70s - Stratos, or the later 037, S4 and Integrale.
Tickets to the event cost just £20 ($16) for Friday and Saturday, with prices being lower on Sunday, £15 ($10). A child ticket will only set you back £5 on Friday or Saturday and will be free on Sunday. The show will be open between 9.30am each day and 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday or 4.30pm on Sunday.
