For about a year now, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has been patiently waiting for parent company VW to approve production of the Urus SUV. The Italian designers did their job and created an awesome-looking vehicle that people surely want, but which they'll likely only be able to buy it in 2016.
But the Chinese, the copycats that they are, saw the Urus and said "well hang on, we should make that our own. As China Car Times reports, a company called Sichuan Yama built this SUV based on what's probably the platform of the Austin Rover Mastro.
The front grille and headlights are a little bit different, but the side profile, sloping roof and rear quarters are definitely inspired by the Urus. Despite their best efforts, it still came out wrong, like somebody used press photos and got the wrong idea.
To make things ever worse, the headlights look like they came from a Golf VII and the 1.5-liter engine actually did come from a Mitsubishi. Kill it, kill it with fire!
