More and more details about the Lamborghini SUV are starting to show up and now that we know the vehicle is set to make its debut as a concept at the Beijing Motor Show, we also have a name for it: Urus.
According to China Car Times, the name that was previously expected to be used by the car, Deimos, has been saved for a future vehicle. No, this has nothing to do with bulls, at least not directly, as this was the name of an extinct European ox. The vehicle is expected to use a refreshed version of the Gallardo’s V10 engine, which could deliver 584 hp and come to the marker in 2015.
Maybe it’s better that the details of the Lambo SUV are appearing one at a time than if the carmaker would’ve just fully revealed the car at the Beijing Auto Show - this way, the public has time to get used to the idea of a Lamborghini SUV. Yes, we know, the company has built an SUV in the past, the LM002 of the 90s’, but that is an extremely rare sight.
