The Lamborghini Super Trofeo mono marque series will make its debut in North America this year, with six races to be held in the United States and Canada.
The North American Super Trofeo, which will be sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association, will race in six events alongside famed series such as Grand-Am, American Le Mans, IMSA and even Indy Car.
The inaugural Lamborghini Super Trofeo series race will be held at Mid-Ohio on June 15-16, before heading to Lime Rock, Kansas City, Calabogie (Canada), Virgin International Raceway and finally to Fontana, with the final event taking place on October 18-19.
At the end of the year, the winners of North American race will be invited to compete in a world final in Italy, alongside Super Trofeo winners from the European and Asian series. All Lamborghini Super Trofeo series competitors will be driving track-ready Gallardo LP 570-4 vehicles with all-wheel drives and 570 HP V10-engines.
"We're delighted to extend our race series into the North American market, which reflects both the recognition and success of our race series worldwide, and the importance of the USA to Lamborghini," said President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann.
