Four-wheeled creations built in Sant'Agata Bolognese might deliver stunning acceleration and memorable pieces of driving experience and yet the most important gift of a Lamborghini is its ability to put on a show.
Sure, all supercars excel when it comes to grabbing attention, whether it's about entertaining their owners or other people. But search each one's personality and you'll notice the Lamborghini DNA is more focused on this than, say, that of Ferrari or McLaren.

As a result, when you're putting together a police chase video, you can't go wrong with a pair of Raging Bulls. Especially since the "Polizia" theme has been used in Italy for quite a while now, with the authorities receiving special attention from Lamborghini, in the form of actual police supercars.

The collaboration started back in 2014 with a Gallardo, and here we are, talking about that V10 machine as a retired unit.

Lamborghini police cars are usually allowed to do what they do best, which means we are mostly dealing with image-related campaigns rather than chasing bad guys.

However, sometimes a director comes along and aligns the stars for us all, as it happens in the footage below. The clip, which comes from Nue Vue, shows us the Italian Police Lamborghini Huracan, their latest weapon, chasing a Gallardo Superleggera.

On paper, you could crop the information available on the two generations of Italian machines and say the 40 hp difference between these Lamborghinis is not such a big deal.

In real life though, the gap between them is larger than it might seem. Perhaps the most important part of what sets the two apart is their handling.

Unlike the Gallardo, the Huracan uses electronic control for its all-wheel-drive. This doesn't just bring sharper moves and smaller chances of spinning when the electronics are off, it also means you can have multiple handling personalities.

Alas, the Huracan can show signs of understeer, depending on the driving mode chosen. And while this makes it safer and more accessible to drivers who don't play at expert level, it also means the Gallardo remains the more effervescent car at the limit, at least in terms of feeling.

Don't expect that to show in the exhaust sound, though. This is where the Huracan once again takes the lead. The show must go on.
