Lamborghini Drifts the Huracan for Educational Purposes

In case your father wasn’t some racing driver, the best way to avoid ending up labeled as “money doesn’t buy you skills” after you buy a car like the Lamborghini Huracan is to take some driving courses. The Raging Bull is more than happy to provide hooning tuition and the clip below demonstrates drifting in their latest V10 Bull, the Huracan.
The all-wheel drive machine is seen performing all sorts of slides on a mostly wet skidpad. Like we said, the moves are pulled off by customer under Lamborghini instructors’ supervision, so you’ll have to ignore the occasional inconsistencies.

The Huracan and its predecessor, the Gallardo, may share the “-4” at the end of their designation, but the way in which they feed all four wheels with power makes a difference.

Whereas the Gallardo has to make due without any electronic control, relying on a viscous coupling for the front-rear torque distribution, the Huracan went... digital. The distribution is now handled by a hydraulically-actuated multi-plate clutch, which comes with a default torque split of 30:70 (front:rear).

If the artificial intelligence considers it necessary, the front axle can receive up to 50 percent of the muscle, while the rear can go all the way up to 100 percent. At the back, there’s a mechanical diff. This is integrated in the double-clutch gearbox, which replaces the e-gear automated manual. The actual manual is gone too.

The best way to watch the system in action in the clip below is to wait for the moments when the Huracan makes the transition from wet to dry.
