No, this is not some replica of a Countach on two wheels built by a Lambo fan- this bike was brought to the world by Lamborghini itself. This is product of the Lamborghini era that also led to the creation of the LM002 SUV - the company was owned by the Swiss Mimran brothers after Ferrucio Lamborghini went bankrupt and they wanted diversity.
The bike was developed together with French motorcycle racing company Boxer and uses the Design 90 moniker, being introduced in 1986. The Lamborghini Design 90 uses a 1,000cc, 4-cam, 4 valve per cylinder straight-four Kawasaki engine that delivers 130 hp. The engine propelled the 130 kg of the bike onto a top speed of 256 km/h (159 mph).
The commercial success was limited due to the fact that the Lambo bike was about twice as expensive as the top sport motorcycle of its era and the project was dropped after only six of the 25 planned units were built. The Lamborghini 90 is now being offered on Jameslist, with a price of EUR55,000 (USD77,557 at the current exchange rate).
