Lamborghini Aventador Rendered Topless

With the bold lines and the pointy Reventon-inspired nose of the Aventador fresh in our minds, we left the 2011 Geneva Motor Show dreaming of the car and thinking of what else Lamborghini could do with the shape of the supercar. We found what we were looking for in this awesome Aventador Roadster design from renderedspeculation.com.

The creative redesign is based on the hot-orange leaked images from a week ago. “You see, there is a special place in our hearts reserved for the lustful roadster variants of any scissor-door Lambo (of course we thoroughly enjoy the Gallardo Spyder as well ... I mean, who doesn't?), so a topless Aventador just seems like a reasonable second-step for this particular vehicle when we end up crossing that bridge,” says the discretion of the rendering, and we couldn’t agree more.

The graphic designers have envisioned a “body panel that lifts up electronically to reveal a lightweight folding soft top for those rain-out-of-nowhere situations.” This would be much more practical than the cumbersome roofing options of the Murcielago Roadster. Whatever form the new open-top supercar from Lamborghini takes, we are eager to have it hit the road as soon as possible.

We will remind you that the ‘normal’ Aventador comes with a state-of-the-art monocoque made from carbon fiber and an all-new 6.5-liter twelve-cylinder heart that allows lucky owners behind the wheel to play the 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) game in 2.9 seconds and enjoy a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
