Little did the Prancing Horse of Maranello know back then, but the Ferrari 288 GTO homologation special would kickstart a dynasty of high-performance road cars, beginning with the V8-powered F40 in 1987. Come 1995, this exclusive club welcomed its first V12-powered member in the form of the F50.
Exclusively manual, the 1990s icon would be replaced by the only road-going Ferrari named after the man himself. A midship V12 gifted with a Graziano-supplied automated manual, the Enzo develops a staggering 775 kilograms (1,709 pounds) of downforce at 300 kph (186 miles per hour).

Twinned with the Maserati MC12, the Ferrari Enzo was revealed at the 2002 Paris Motor Show, which is more than two decades ago. Prior to its public debut, the Maranello-based automaker shipped the show car to the United States to be filmed in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Indeed, the one and only Demi Moore drove an Enzo before paying customers had the opportunity to.

The succeeding LaFerrari can be considered a natural evolution from the Enzo, for it switched to a dual-clutch transmission and hybrid assistance in the form of a KERS unit. Officially dubbed HY-KERS, the system helps the Enzo-derived V12 engine with 161 horsepower for a combined 950 hp at full chatter.

Discontinued in 2018, the LaFerrari still hasn't received a successor. The heir apparent, however, is right around the corner. Due to be revealed in the latter half of 2024 as a 2025 model, what Ferrari calls F250 has already been spied on numerous occasions by the carparazzi at Maranello and Fiorano to boot.

Based on said pictures and videos, Real Automotive's pixel artist rendered the most track-focused hypercar in Ferrari's history. Similar to the actual car, the unofficial design study is big on aero, especially when it comes to the ginormous rear wing. While on the subject of downforce, you might have also noticed two black-painted vents in the front hood.

Those are best described as an evolution of the S-Duct system introduced to Ferrari road cars by the 488 Pista, with said S-Duct system generating 18 percent more downforce compared to the 488 GTB. There is a small penalty in terms of unwanted drag, of course, that penalty being a meager 2 percent.

Something else that sets the F250 apart from the LaFerrari, which bears project codename F150, is the number of side vents. Those aren't there just for show, though, because the newcomer packs a twin-turbo V6 and a degree of hybridization. Based on the SF90 and 296, we might be dealing with a plug-in hybrid.

Most certainly rated at more than 800 horsepower (the 296 offers 819 horsepower in hybrid mode), the F250 is a polarizing new chapter in the hi-po dynasty started by the 288 GTO. Even though it's rocking a 3.0-liter V6, bear in mind this fellow is certain to lap Fiorano quicker than any other road-going Ferrari before it. The current record holder is the SF90 XX Stradale, which clocked 1:17.309 with the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R road-legal tires.
