Kubica Thinks Title Will Go to Webber or Alonso

Robert Kubica told the media on Thursday that Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso have the best chances of clinching the world title this season. Although there are three more drivers still in mathematical contention for the 2010 crown, the Pole believes these two have what it takes to bring the title fight to the end.

It's between Webber and Alonso. It's three races to go and I would say they have a better chance in my opinion, but I might be wrong. Normally when you point out two, the third one wins!” said Kubica, as reported by Autosport.

Lately, there have been plenty of high-profiled figures around the world of Formula One that have tipped one or the other for the 2010 title. While Bernie Ecclestone is clearly favoring Sebastian Vettel for the title, he said that Webber is currently experiencing his best shot at an F1 crown in career.

On the other hand, triple F1 champion Niki Lauda and former Grand Prix driver Gerhard Berger both think Alonso has the necessary qualities to bag a 3rd world title this year (while also in the best position, because he is also fully backed by his Ferrari team).

As far as the next episode of the title fight is concerned, namely the Korean Grand Prix, Kubica continued by arguing that Red Bull will again have the fastest car this weekend, yet the performance gap between them and the other teams will not be as big as in Japan.

I think Red Bull is the favorite (for Korea), but it might be closer to the other teams here. Some parts of the tracks will suit Ferrari and others McLaren, but Red Bull is still the favorite,” added Kubica.
