We know that the F80 M4 is the only M car people talk about right now and they’re right to do so, as it will be the first one to come out of the Motorsport division weighing less than its predecessor while also being more powerful.
However, we shouldn’t forget about the aforementioned car that is still raising pulses wherever it goes. It’s also the last BMW to use a naturally aspirated engine, the S65 4-liter V8 being the one we’re speaking about. The M jewel went out of production in November last year ushering in the era of turbocharged performance.
Thanks to turbos we now get more torque out of smaller engines but lose the sound we’ve been getting used to in the process. That’s an issue that won’t do well with the BMW fan masses and this is why it’s good to have a flashback every once in a while.
In the memory of the ‘good old days’ we found this footage of a BMW E92 M3 fitted with a Kreissieg F1 valvetronic exhaust system. The sounds it creates are impressive, to say the least.
Even though the guys from Kreissieg are not as well known as Akrapovic or Eisenmann, they proved that they too are capable of creating quality sound with hard work and care to details. Check it out and let us know what you think of it, compared to other systems out there.
