Kia Releases 2011 Sportage UK Pricing

Kia’s UK arm has announced the pricing and equipment levels for the new Sportage model, which is scheduled to enter the market on November 1.

The Sportage’s engine range includes two diesel units and two petrol powerplants. The entry level engine is a 1.6 liter direct injection petrol unit. This is followed by a 2.0 liter CVVT petrol engine. The diesel side of the line-up includes a 1.7 liter CRDi and a 2.0 liter CRDi. Customers can choose between a manual or an automatic gearbox.

Customers can choose between three equipment levels. These use the “1”, “2” and “3” names. Kia offers all-wheel drive as an option for the 2 and 3 models. The feature changes the names of the vehicles, offering the the “KX” designation.

The entry level Sportage, that comes with the 1 trim level and uses the 1.6 liter petrol engine, has a starting price of 16,654 pounds ($26,015 or EUR19,892). You’ll have to pay 20.020 pounds ($31,273 or EUR23,913) for the cheapest model featuring the 2 equipment level, while the 3 trim level comes with a price of 21,595 pounds ($33,733 or EUR25,795).

The most expensive model in the range, the 2.0 CRDi KX-3 will set you back 26,170 pounds ($40,880 or EUR31,259). One option that will certainly be among many customer’s choices will be the metallic paint, which has a price of 435 pounds ($680 or EUR520).

The 2011 Kia Sportage has recently received the top environmental certificate from the German certification agency TUV Nord. The vehicle underwent a rigorous evaluation process that covered its entire life cycle, from production, through everyday use, to recycling.
