The world of miniature motoring can get as complex as the real one if you got the cash. There are many companies out there who can provide you tons of different size and complexity scale model vehicles but nothing compares to those custom-made ones you only get from an enthusiast craftsmen.
One like Chris De Graaf from Norway, who spent six months creating this stunning looking Kahn Design Land Rover Defender RC model, which you can easily mistake with the real one in these pictures.

“What’s the big deal? It’s only a boxy toy car with added bits,” you might be tempted to say. Well, yeah, it is a boxy car but as the real model tuned by Kahn, its beauty lies in the details.

And those details came as modified bumpers, flared fenders, special wheels, a custom paintjob, a light rack and even coated steel panels. Things which you have to make from scratch or have someone else make for you.

For his 20th RC car project here, Chris had to wait for parts and materials from many different countries to complete the job, including the Netherlands, USA, England and Canada, which somehow explains the six months completion time.

The model here reminds us of Kahn’s upcoming Land Rover Defender Longnose it teased us with a few months back. Their new project will stretch a two-door Defender 90 and add all sorts of menacing looking parts on it, which in our opinion makes it the best hardcore off-roader you can get; rough but with a generous dose of elegance.
