After making a name for himself on the track, British race car driver Justin Bell is now a prominent figure in front of the camera, doing what he loves most: reviewing cars. In his latest video, he took on a new breed of a monster from BMW: the X6 M.
The new model came out this year and it’s bringing a lot of improvements compared to its predecessor. Apart from the styling changes which would be obvious for a new model, the 2016 version also has a revised powertrain and an interior that lives up to the expectations.

Under the bonnet lies a heavily revised version of the original S63 engine, the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 now making 575 HP instead of 555 HP. That 20 HP increase might seem like nothing but the substantial gains were made in the torque department.

That’s where things went from 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) to 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) which is quite a hefty improvement. On top of that, the transmission was also changed, the old 6-speed automatic being replaced by a new 8-speed Steptronic gearbox that was sourced from ZF apparently.

Combined with the xDrive all-wheel drive system, the 2.2-ton Mastodon will accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds which is blazing fast.

Now that we covered the basics, you probably have a good idea about what Justin will have to review, right? He has to make sure that all of these claims from BMW that the new model is agile and fast on and off a track are valid. Will the X6 M deliver? Let’s take a look and find out!
