Jordan Bets on Hamilton for 2010 Title

For former F1 team owner and boss Eddie Jordan, the upcoming season of Formula One doesn't hold too many secrets, at least as far as the title fight goes. According to the eccentric British figure, Lewis Hamilton has the best chances of bagging the 2010 F1 title, despite the incredible competition from Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Michael Schumacher (Mercedes).

I can't get my head away from Lewis Hamilton. He's sharp. He's got talent and the return to the sport of Michael Schumacher will only add to that aggression for him to succeed. It's perfect for him. My money wouldn't be anywhere but on Hamilton. (...) I think the momentum is with McLaren and Hamilton is a class act,” said Jordan, according to planetf1.com.

The former F1 boss also played down the first “conclusions” after the Valencia testing session this week, which saw Ferrari dominating all days of running at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit. Jordan said that what happened in Valencia was simply Ferrari “trying to fool the bookies into a false sense of security,” and emphasized that the form at the Bahrain Grand Prix is the one that counts the most.

Additionally, Jordan doesn't consider Jenson Button a title contender in the 2010 series, especially since the Brit encountered some serious “comfort” problems during his first outing with the MP4-25.

Jenson is going to have to learn to accept a different life. At Brawn he was part of the furniture. This is a real eye-opener for him and this will be the measure of the man. But he wouldn't have taken this decision if he wasn't aware of what his requirement would be. He's taken the fight to himself. He wants to prove he can beat Hamilton in a very different environment. I'd like to see him in the top three but it will be a big ask,” added Jordan.
