As Jeremy Clarkson prepares to make his first televised comeback after the fracas incident, his daughter sticks up for him in a recent interview for a British publication. As much as Emily Clarkson loves Jeremy, she shares some amusing details on Captain Power’s fatherhood.
Tonight at 9 PM UK time, TFI Friday will feature Jeremy Clarkson, Chris Evans and a Ferrari LaFerrari on the Top Gear test track for a potentially record-breaking lap. As Top Gear Series 22 prepares to end with a one hour-plus lust hurrah special episode, good ole Jeremy is currently preparing for a Clarkson, Hammond & May Live arena show in South Africa.

Whichever way you look at it, JC is a pretty busy fellow for someone who is in between jobs.

20-year-old Emily Clarkson, the oldest daughter of Jezza and the presenter’s former wife Frances Cain, is busy as a bee as well. As The Standard describes her, Em’s got “Jeremy’s blue eyes and a nose ring that her mother, Frances, hates.” When she’s not writing on her blog, Em runs  social media company Dottier1.

So how is Jeremy as a dad? Well, Em bought him a slow cooker for Jeremy’s 55th anniversary in May, “but it’s still in its box. And I can’t imagine him making a smoothie.” We sort of understand this situation because Jeremy is a notorious workaholic with little to no time at all for himself due to his complex professional life.

Compared to Jezza, Emily “wouldn’t want to go on TV. I’m shy and there’s nothing worse than going on TV for the sake of it.” Em disclosed that her mum (Jeremy’s former wife) was managing her father and doing the school run when they were still together. 21 years of marriage later, they broke up. When asked about JC’s relationship with events organizer Phillippa Sage, Emily replied with a firm “absolutely no comment.”

Jeremy Clarkson oldest daughter revealed that her dad wasn’t strict at all at home, when she was growing up. Especially when they’re young, kids have this idea about their parents being embarrassing in most situations. Em highlights that “everyone is embarrassed by their parents but I adore Mum and Dad.”

The driver of a white-painted Ford Fiesta supermini, Em’s juiciest excerpt from the story in The Standard is: “We went out together once and he [Jeremy Clarkson] took the steering wheel from me. Both of our nerves were frayed with my driving and his backseat driving.”

Don’t fret Em, all dads are like that when they’re driven by their kids and it doesn’t change with age, profession or any other whatnot. Dads are like that. Speaking of nerves being frayed, remember Emily’s prank on Jeremy Clarkson from August last year? If not, the adjacent clip has been added as a reminder.
