After a trailer for the last Top Gear episode from the Clarksonian era has been released yesterday, the good news keeps on coming in. Our dose of Jeremy Clarkson will be doubled thanks to Channel 4’s TFI Friday special episode, slated to air on June 12th. What should we be expecting this Friday?
Bells and whistles, pomp and circumstance, rock stars, Chris Evans, and Jeremy Clarkson. According to news outlet Contact Music, Chris Evan’s tweet about a “Top Gear sequence with an independent production company,” represents a cryptic way of saying “I’ll bring Clarkson back on the telly for the TFI Friday special.”

Chris’ tweet makes sense now. As does Jeremy’s “next week, I'm doing a pilot Radio 2 breakfast show with an independent production company. We'll see how it goes.” The one-off special will be hosted by Evans, celebrating (almost) 20 years of since the first show's episode.

Other than Chris Evans and Jeremy Clarkson, the guest lineup for the TFI Friday special episodes includes Liam Gallagher of Oasis fame, Roger Daltrey of The Who, as well as Ian Broudie of Echo & The Bunnymen and Zak Starkey, who is the son of The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.

As such, expect lots of good tunes, big laughs and Jeremy doing what he does best on TV - entertainment.

In related Jeremy Clarkson news, we’re told by the New Zealand Herald that Captain Power is “off the booze and saving AUD1,000 a week.” Jeremy declared: “Because I'm not spending 40 quid a day on wine and another 40 on taxis to run me around, I'm saving more than £500 a week. But because I'm now driving everywhere I'm spending more than that, and a lot more besides, on parking tickets." Good on you, Jezza!

UPDATE: it's official. The last Top Gear episode with Jeremy Clarkon as a presenter will air on June 28th.
